06.   Digital Bangladesh

Introduction: The world is becoming a digital planet. Use of Information and Communication Technology has brought the nations of the world closer. At present almost every state is running to become a knowledge-based society. Bangladesh cannot remain out of it and the Government has declared to turn Bangladesh into a digital one by 2021. ‘Digital Bangladesh’ is a concept that will make our country more efficient, transparent and productive.

Meaning of Digital Bangladesh: The word ‘Digital’ refers to a system based on a continuous flow of data or events. And the term ‘Digital Bangladesh’ refers to a society based on knowledge. The object of establishing a ‘Digital Bangladesh’ is to ensure an ICT (Information and Communication Technology) driven knowledge-based society. In such a society, information will be readily available online and where all possible tasks of the government, semi-government and also private in situations will be processed using technology.

Present scenario: Bangladesh has been connected to the worldwide Internet Super Highway through an undersea submarine cable. Yet in the field of ICT, our only grand success lies in Mobile telecommunications which have brought about a radical change in telecommunication in the country. In other spheres of ICTT, our achievements are not remarkable.

Problems and challenges: The promise of a Digital Bangladesh has inspired great hopes for the people in Bangladesh, especially for the young. Unfortunately, the prospect of Digital Bangladesh is being hindered due to poverty. Also, general development of the country is being hampered by pervasive corruption in government. Besides, the low literacy rate is another barrier on the way of a Digital Bangladesh.

Initiatives/Steps: Govt. must take on action plan to make Digital Bangladesh a success by 2021. Bangladesh is still a village-based country. So village centred development plan should be adopted. Technology should be made easily available to all classes of people.

Conclusion: Digital Bangladesh can be successful in an atmosphere of democracy, transparency and accountability. Therefore, inspired by the challenges on its way, the people of Bangladesh should work together to make Bangladesh a modern, technologically sophisticated country. If necessary, our national policies should be reformulated; Politicians will have to come out of their self-interest and should work for the common interest of the nation.

প্রথমেই মনে রাখতে হবে যে ইংরেজি হচ্ছে একটা ভাষা, যা চর্চা করতে করতে আয়ত্ব করা যায়। যেকোনো ভাষাই শেখার জন্য চারটি ধাপ থাকে,  যেমনঃ  01. Reading  02. Writing  03. Listening  04. Speaking সহজ ভাবে যদি বলি, যত বেশি বেশি Listening করবেন তত দ্রুত আপনার Speaking এ Improve করতে পারবেন। এছাড়াও, Speaking এর ক্ষেত্রে নির্দিষ্ট একটা Topic বা বিষয়ে Listening এর পাশাপাশি নিজে নিজে বলার চেষ্টা করতে হবে। কারো সাথে Practice করতে পারলে বা বলতে পারলে অর্থাৎ এক-দুই জন পার্টনার থাকলে এক্ষেত্রে আরও ভালো হয়। যত বেশি বেশি Reading ও Listening বুঝতে পারবেন তত দ্রুত Writing এ Improve করতে পারবেন। আবার Writing এর ক্ষেত্রে প্রতিদিন কিছুনা কিছু লিখতে হবে এবং সেটা অন্য কাউকে দিয়ে অর্থাৎ  ভালো লিখতে পারে এমন কাউকে দিয়ে Check করিয়ে নিতে পারলে লেখায় দ্রুত উন্নতি করা সম্ভব হয়। এছাড়া, Writing এর জন্য Online থেকে Grammarly এর সহায়তা ও নেওয়া যেতে পারে। Writing এর জন্য English এ Grammar যতটা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ Speaking এর ক্ষেত্রে Grammar ততটা না জানলেও সমস্যা নেই। Speaking টা হচ্ছে আপনি আপনার সামনের লোকটাকে বুঝিয়ে নিতে পারা বা
